Ta' Pinu is called the church of Miracles because of a remarkable event that unfolded in 1883. Karmni Grima found herself in the presence of a miracle when she heard a voice coming from the only chapel decorated with an image of the Blessed Virgin. Initially surprised, she retreated, only to hear the same voice from within the chapel again.. Inside is just as beautiful and features Christ on the crucifix in the middle of the church. Ta' Pinu National Shrine - Gozo, MALTA was live.. Ta' Pinu is very well known to the locals. In fact, most believe that it is a church of miracles on Gozo. Thousands flock to this church every year looking for a cure or attempting to read up about other's miracles. There are over 350 churches on Malta (and the island is only 122 square miles). Obviously, this land is VERY religious.
